Born as a result of a lifelong infatuation towards ceramics, Nitara is the brain child of Karishma, a fashion design graduate. We are a design studio that currently focus on ceramics. We create minimal pieces that make a statement with the belief that minimal does not equate to boring. Each ceramic piece that bears our name is handmade by local artisans in and around Calcutta. Our glass and metalware are made by artisans in India. They are produced by local factories in their specific districts. We believe in fair trade and sustainability. We are proud to say that we are a plastic free when it comes to our packaging, having found paper alternatives to bubble wrap.
